Loyd Broady married our mom, Phyllis Adine Rose Stevens about 1958. Bothmy brother Shane and I used the surname BROADY from the time of ourmothers marriage to our stepdad Loyd, even though it was not until about1965 when he adopted the two of us and legally changed our last name fromStevens to Broady. Through the court procedings, which took place inPortland, Oregon, new birthcertificates were issued to us, naming LoydBroady as our natural father, when in fact he was just our adoptedfather. Buck Stevens (Frederick Charles Harrison Stickler, anotherstory in itself), is our natural father. I write this to clear up anyconfusion in the future for anyone doing genealogy for our family.(Shauna)
