"In World War Two, he served as a Captain in the United States Army fromSeptember 1, 1942 to November 21, 1944, when he retired because ofphysical disability. He served with the 7th Armored Division at CampPolk, Louisiana ( Leesville, La.) and later transferred to La GardaHospital in New Orleans, where he rendered service until retirement.
"Chester Owen, son of Henry H. and Carrie Dominy Cramer was born on afarm at Amlin, Franklin County, Ohio. He attended elementary school atAmlin and graduated from Norwich Township High school at Hilliards, Ohio.
"He attended Ohio State University where he received his Bachelor of Artsdegree in 1928 and his Doctor of Medicine in 1932. He practiced medicinefor fifteen years on West BroadStreet, Columbus, Ohio.
"He suffered a coronary on December 11, 1947, and expired that same day.He was active in Civic affairs work, and also a member of the City Boardof Health at the time of his death. He was buried at Wesley ChapelCemetery, near Hilliards, Ohio."
