The subject of this sketch, Hazel, was born on the farm near Amlin, Ohio,educated in the centralized schools of Norwich Township, and taughtschool for a number of years in Auburndale, where her parents maintainedtheir winter home.
James, her husband, managed the Orange grove plantation for his mother.After the birth of their children, they migrated to Amlin, Ohio, about1936, where they lived for a few years.
James, a graduate of agriculture, being greatly interested in this work,receiving a position in the Horticulture Department of Ohio StateUniversity, where he is still employed.
