Stanley has been very active in civic and community affairs.
He was a member of the Madison County Fair Board for 35 years. Also heserved as clerk of the Canaan Township School Board for 27 years. He wasalso clerk of the Canaan Township Trustees, in which capacity he servedfor more than 28 years.
He resided upon a farm, a short distance from where he was born, hisfamily being one of Madison County's first settlers, having always beenone of the county's foremost in the advancement of the pursuit ofagriculture.
Stanley, and his devoted wife (Laura), were the sixth members of theDominy family, to celebrate the Golden Era. If he had lived to October ofthis year, they would have spent 55 years of wedded bliss and happiness,they being one of the last surviving couples.
