RESIDENT:- North East, Dutchess County, New York, moved to Jamestown,Greene Countv, Ohio, removed to Pleasant Valley (now Plain City), MadisonCounty, Ohio.
Edmond and Polly Clark (Lawrence) Barlow, are natives of Massachusettsand Connecticut, and later North Fast, Dutchess County, New York, andboth are of English descent.
They emigrated to Greene County, Ohio, when her parents did in 1820,removing to Madison County, Ohio in 1852. He was a carpenter by tradeuntil moving to Ohio, then followed farming until his death in 1863.
He was a soldier in the War of 1812, served as a Major of a Regiment ofMilitia, was ordered to New Orleans, fought there under General Jacksonin the battle of New Orleans, which .broke the British hold on Louisiana,and gave us the right to purchase this vast Territory from France,stretching from the Gulf of Mexico, west of the Mississippi River, northto Canada, and west to the Pacific Ocean.
