It was through Judith Potter that the 1549 Cranmer Bible was preservedand came to the SDB Historical Society. This was the testament of whichSamuel Hubbard wrote "Now 1675 I have a testament of my grandfatherCocke's printed in 1549 which he hid in his bedstraw lest it be burnt inQueen Mary's days".
