Text:   John Terwilligar came to the district in 1853. He was the first blacksmith to reside here. His wife was Sarah Cooper, daughter of John Cooper of Bloomfield. They had two daughters and one son; all were faithful members of the Methodist Church and did much to help in every way. Their son Obadiah left a large sum to the Superannuation Fund of the methodist Church. John Terwillegar and both his wives are at rest in the Orser Burying Ground. Obadiah is buiried in Glenwood Cemetery, Picton.
